Why is it that I cannot throw anything but a gutter ball if I’m bowling sober, but as soon as I have one or twenty drinks in me, I score more points than a husband with a blue box? Just so happens that this past Saturday, after a fun date night of dinner at El Camino (my new fave Mexican restaurant) and a dance show at the Sushi Performance Space, Steve and I randomly ran into old friends at The Corner Bar and then ended up bowling the night away at The East Village Tavern and Bowl.
And as soon as my friend Curt said, “I’ll buy you a shot if you get a strike,” it was Game On. Four strikes later…I was four sheets to the wind, and am still paying the price two days later. But the night was a blast and I’m glad that age & motherhood have not diminished my mad buzzed bowling skillz.
Sidebar: Jeggings + bowling shoes is not a flattering combo. Nope, not attractive in the slightest. Just FYI.
The skull and cross bones emblem in the bowling alley logo is fairly representative of how I felt Sunday morning, so we took the kids to Einstein Bros for a carbo load/lemon drop shot soaker-upper and I snapped this photo.
Because it made me happy, and because I had promised my friends on Saturday night that my blog wouldn’t turn into an, oh, look how cute my kids are blog. So this pic is for you Curt & Jamie. Isn’t she cute?

First of all, could Lexi be any cuter?! No, I think not. Second, GNO– yes, please!!!
Um, yes! GNO is a must. And thanks for noticing…: )
I love it! We had the best time with you guys – even though we crashed your date night! :-) It is so great to see a couple of parents out really enjoying their time together. We are looking forward to running into you again on the next date night. Oh, and yes, she is adorable! xoxoxox
Had such a blast with you guys. There is only so much time we can spend together alone anyways. :)
You are a fun date. I can totally vouch for that.
Also, Lexi is a cute kid. Also vouching for that.
I am pretty fun, eh. I’m kinda like “Fun Bobby” from “Friends”…
So cute!!! I want to go!
Yes, we need to plan a GNO there. It’s so much fun!!! A good place for the SDMOMfia to hang.
I can match your drunk bowling skills! I can play pool better, throw darts better, and dance better while intoxicated! Maybe I only THINK I can dance better.
Oh I am totally better at dancing, darts and pool when drunk too! And yes, it’s probably all in our minds.
I am the exact same way – once I have had a few my game improves! We’ll need to bowl together sometime:)
Oh yes, Andrea, come on down for a GNO in SD and we’ll all go. What fun!!!
You know that competitive side of me?
Let’s go bowling!
That is the precise weblog for anybody who wants to search out out about this topic. You realize a lot its almost hard to argue with you (not that I actually would want…HaHa). You positively put a new spin on a topic thats been written about for years. Nice stuff, simply great!
