Despite the plethora of ghastly bugs infesting my house this Christmas Season, those of the stomach and head snot variety, our family had a cool yule nevertheless. The kids got the major hook-up from Santa and I took a four hour nap in the middle of the day on Christmas, which could very well be the best gift a mom could ever get.
After Xmas, the puking and the nose blowing continued with most of my family. Today is the first day I’ve been outside in three days, and the first day all of us feel next to normal.
One of my favorite memories of Xmas day was half-way through opening her stocking stuffers, Lily began wildly jumping up and down, flailing around her pack of Trident that Santa had put in her stocking.
“MOMMY! I. GOT. GUM!!!!!”
It was joyous slap in the face reminding me that kids get excited over the simplest, most inexpensive items. And that maybe I overdid it with gifts this year. But it was worth it. Until next year when they expect a bigger and better spread.
I myself got hooked-to-the-up from Santa. Let’s just say the video worked.
Also, I got this.
Yep, that’s right. It’s my Twitter handle commemorated in silver. Boom! To get your very own social media bling, go to www.survivalofthehippest.com.
Tune in tomorrow to read about our biggest and best gift. It’s GLEEktastic!
I’m headed back to bed soon to do some more recouping. Hope Santa was kind to you!
