Looking ahead to 2011, there is a lot to be excited for in the new year, for us tv/film lovin’ GLEEks.
1) American Idol with new judges Steven Tyler and J-Lo.
At first, I was skeptical of this Bostonion/Bronx duo joining the illustrious panel of AI judges. But after catching a glimpse of the previews, I truly think they are going to be perfect judges. She will be an unequivocal beyotch, just like Simon, and he will be an off-the-cuff, I’ve-done-a-crap-loads-of-drugs-in-my-life, loose cannon, just like Paula. But unlike Simon and Paula, they were uber-famous, even before AI fame, and I think America is going to hang on every word they say. At least until their hair flips become overly annoying or we get blinded by the stage lights reflecting of his teeth and her jewelry.
2) Kung Fu Panda Part II.
Kung Fu Panda was the first movie my kids ever watched. And though I lost count, our familial viewings of that movie are upward of a hundred. So needless to say, the entire G-Unit is looking forward to some more comedic Jack Black humor in the form of a cushy, kick-ass panda.
3) Justin Timberlake on GLEE.
Okay, before you freak out, I totally made this one up. There is no confirmation that JT will make an appearance on GLEE this year. But I’m going to put The Secret to the test, put it out the universe and see if I get my wish. I mean seriously? How awesome would that be? (I’d REALLY be happy with a new album from JT, but since acting seems to be his thing lately, I’ll take a GLEE appearance).
4) The most dramatic rose ceremony ever with Brad Womack’s return to The Bachelor.
Okay, so The Bachelor is my guilty pleasure. There, I’ve said it. Every season I swear I’m not going to watch, but then end up tuning in, cringing, and yelling “turn it up, turn it up!” And this upcoming season is sure to be a total trainwreck as this douchelor tries his hand at marriage, for a second time, in the most superficial, manufactured manner ever. I can’t wait!
5) Alex Wong’s return to Season 8 of So You Think You Can Dance.
One of 2010’s biggest disappointments was when Alex Wong got injured during a taping for SYTYCD and had to be removed from the competition. I am not sure the status of his healing process, but he has made mention that he would like to come back this year and try again, and I am praying he does. His talent is beyond. I mean his hip hop dance with Twitch was one of my highlights of 2010.
