miracles do happen

Fourteen hours of surgery, infinite prayers, half a liver and one angel later my best friend Amy has a new lease on life. As I posted on Friday, Amy underwent a liver transplant from a living donor named Olivia. I am extraordinarily happy to report that the surgery went off with flying colors and both are recuperating nicely.

Today I am relieved, grateful, overwhelmed and overjoyed. Everything from Amy’s take-no-prisoners attitude to Olivia’s selfless act has inspired me, humbled me and given me a renewed belief in the human spirit.

Miracles do happen, dear readers. Thank you for all of your thoughts, prayers, and good vibes during the past few months. Please keep them going for both Amy & Olivia as the recover and begin new chapters of their lives.
