This post is going to make you green with envy. Just gonna get that out there up front.
Steve and I just returned from a weekend getaway in Cabo San Lucas, celebrating our ten-year wedding anniversary (which is actually this coming Thursday, March 31). When we first arrived in Cabo, our cab driver said, “Welcome to Paradise.” And he wasn’t kidding. Aside from having to deal with a short bout of the south-of-the-border runs yet still managing to gain five pounds, the trip was as close to perfect as we could have ever imagined.
The location was a dream. I cannot say enough good things about our resort, Zoetry Casa Del Mar.
The view from any vantage point of the hotel is breathtaking, the grounds are lush, & well manicured, and the entire staff is gracious and helpful. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever been so relaxed in my life.
And I now know the three key words you need to know when booking a romantic weekend getaway:
1) Boutique
Casa Del Mar is a known as Boutique Resort, which means it has less than fifty rooms. And since getting away from the hectic-ness of our daily life was our main goal, the intimate, peaceful vibe of this resort was absolutely perfect. Other than the occasional sound of a blender and some splashing in the pool, the only sounds we heard were waves crashing, the breeze blowing and birds chirping.
How many people do you see in these photos of the main hotel areas?
Exactly! We felt like the resort was almost exclusively ours.
2) Beachfront
Every inch of the property has a perfect view of the expansive, glorious beach.
3) All-Inclusive
Though I blame both my case of the runny poops and the extra five pounds around my waist to the copious amounts of alcohol and nachos I ate, the way to go is ALL-INCLUSIVE, mi amigos. Though the daily rate of our room was on the pricey side, once we added up all the food & booze we imbibed, we actually saved money in the end. The other perks of an all-inclusive package are never having to carry a wallet, never worrying about tipping, and never needing to leave the property. The first night we had room service in bed. The second night we ate at the charming restaurant on property, and the third night we had a romantic dinner on the beach at their beachside venue.
All the nachos, cerverzas y ceviche we could ever want, at our beckon call.
Highlights of the trip included reading an entire book while laying in the sun (book review on Room to follow next week),
especially hand-crafted Mexican coffee,
yoga on the beach, and getting to know my husband again.
If I didn’t have two darling daughters to get home to, I would still be there. I did not want to leave. At All.
Many thanks go to all my family members that watched the kids while we were away! It truly was the time of our life! And if you’re looking for a weekend getaway or a week-long vacation destination, Zoetry Casa Del Mar Los Cabos should be your place. Salud!

I so need to go!
Yes, you do! You and Mike and Ellie would love it. : )
How cute are you and your husband?! Love that you got to have a honeymoon. Reconnecting is sooo important to keep the love alive!
And I will totally help plan a conference if you really want to pitch them to be the venue!
You guys are adorable, and I’m sooooo jealous. I need a vacay stat! If you can get them to do a retreat for us I’m in. LOL!
You totally looked relaxed in your first picture of you sitting down with a drink in hand. Ahhhh, I’m so jealous. Looks like a great time and if I ever marry for a 3rd time (hehe) I’m requesting we go to this resort for our honeymoon.
Happy Tenth Anniversary Mary. And many more! Thanks for sharing your story and great photos!
I AM jealous. Totally jealous. But, I’m also so happy you had time to celebrate your 10th wedding anniversary. Many more.
So glad you had a great time. Mike and I booked a week long Hawaii trip for our 11 year in May, since we missed the 10. Glad you to got some great reconnection time.
When you have the chance to get away from it all, especially to a place that nice, who cares how many pounds you gain. It’s all about enjoying the trip. Now I want to go.
WOW!! What a fabulous trip!!
ps~ always love how ‘real’ you are. :)
love it!
just liked this to my hub and said we need to do something like this! and I ALWAYS take a toe pic when I am on a beach vacation! thanks for sharing!
Oh how fabulous!
I want to go there. No wait I NEED to go there.
Looks amazing and like the happiest place on Earth for big people!
Boutique resort all the way. So glad you and Steve had a great time. The pics look awesome!
Yep. Jealous.
Those are just stunningly beautiful pictures. Cabo San Lucas looks like an oasis I would picture if was in the sahara desert with no water. Just gorgeous. Glad you and your husband had so much fun Mary. It’s never a bad idea to put on five pounds drinking and eating nachos.
Hot damn woman!!! Looks like a fabulous time!!!! That place sounds amazing! I NEED to go there!!
Except for the nachos and cerveza, you can’t even tell it’s Mexico…and I’m Mexican!! Glad to see the place was so amazing. What a great trip, chica. You both look so happy and rested!
Happy Anniversary Mary and Steve!!!
That resort looks absolutely dreamy and I want to go there right now!
