The latest Disney hit, Tangled, is a special movie in our family because it was the very first movie we saw in the theater as a family. My kids, who were 2.5 and 4.5 at the time, sat through the entire thing and LOVED it! We got the DVD as soon as it was available and the kids have watched it several hundred times since.
So when it came time to pick a theme for Lexi’s 3 year birthday party, it was no shocker when she chose Tangled. She also wanted it to be a pool party so we named it a Rapoolzel party and off we went.
Immediately I went on line and began googling “Tangled Birthday Parties” to get some creative ideas for decor, food, games, etc. In my search I came across a ridiculously crafty/creative blog called Super Mom Moments. Some of her ideas were way too much for me to tackle, but I did take on a few of her ideas and they were a big hit. (So if I can do it, you can do it too).
My video blog tutorial on some of the Tangled decor and party ideas is above. It is worth watching if only for the darlingness that is in the last 10 seconds.
And here are some photos from the party:
In order to pull this party off, I enlisted the help of a lot of friends, so a big shoutout to Amy, Elizabeth, Lindsey of @Lullabellez, and Theresa of @RockonMommies for helping me get it all together!
There is one more special touch I added to the party that I will be sharing next week on a special post sponsored by Shutterfly. Stay tuned!

I’d say you did an AMAZING job! What adorable creations! I love the crown and the rapunzel hair clips!
GO MARY!
Thanks girl! : ) It was a really fun party. And poor Lexi has had next to nothing for her first two birthdays so I wanted to go all out for this one. : )
Aw, what a great party!
And I LOVED the last few seconds of the movie. Lexi is such a doll.
What great ideas! I LOVE the water colors goodies for the kids.
I think I might hire you to plan Sienna’s 3rd b-day party. Love it and love that sweet little love bug! We miss you!
This was such a great party Mary!!!! Lexi Looks sooooo happy! :)
Amazing!! Wow girl you can throw a party. Fun to see the pics, Alisa told me it was beyond gorgeous!!
Hi. I love the crown! Can you share how you made it??? Thank you!
Hi Maria! A friend of mine made the crown for her. Her name is Lindsey and she can be reached via her site Lullabellez.com. She is amazing!
Awesome job!!! Love it! What did you do as far as the invitations?
Thank you! I took a photo of my daughter by the pool (since it was a pool party) and used the iPhone Tangled application to superimpose Pascal in the photo. Then my husband used a photo editing tool to superimpose a crown on her and then we uploaded it to an online invitation site (I think we used Pingg) so we could control the color scheme etc.
Love the video and Tangled party theme! I love the color scheme, the jello dessert & party favors. My favorite was the handmade crown fit for a princess.
LOVE LOVE THE PARTY FAVORS! GREAT IDEAS :)
Where did you find those lanterns?
How did you make the adorable hair clips?
I ordered them from Little Penelope Lane.
