It was love at first hear the night I listened to Adele’s CD 21 for the first time. I’m talking instant, passionate, mad, crazy, love. It’s been years since I’ve fallen for an artist or a CD like this (probably since JT’s Future Sex Love Sound back in 2006). I wrote a review of 21 on Todays Mama just two days after her CD’s release because I was completely obsessed with it and in the review I made the prediction that she would become legendary. Throughout the year, as each newly-released single blew up the charts, I nodded my head knowing that I had called her success from the beginning.
In keeping with my utter infatuation with this woman, and her soul, I am making another prediction. I am predicting the she is going to sweep the Grammys this year. In one little year, she has won the hearts of every American, brought back the bouffant, provided the soundtrack to millions of breakups and has broken music industry records as swiftly as the Beatles did. I’m hoping my girl Rihanna comes out on top in at least one or two categories because I love that girl too, and I am also hoping Mumford and Sons walks away with some gold, but mainly I will be pulling for the big A all night long.
Speaking of Grammys, wanna join in on a little virtual Grammy party on Sunday night? Theresa of Rock On Mommies and Stefanie of Ooph and I are hosting a virtual Grammy party on Sunday night on Twitter. All you have to do is fill out this Grammy ballot and be on Twitter Sunday night, February 12th between 8:00pm and 11:00 ish. Theresa has a list of all the Grammy nominees and links to iTunes where you can listen to the songs in case you haven’t heard some of them. The hashtag will be #GrammySmack and we’ll be dishing some dirt, running some giveaways, and as always, talking some smack.
RSVP on our Facebook event page if you wanna join in on the fun!
