Most successful brands evoke a certain image in the minds of consumers immediately upon hearing the brand name or seeing the logo. Because of the ridiculously comfy leather recliners that La-Z-Boy perfected in the late 1920’s, many times the La-Z-Boy name is associated with a grandpa leaning back, snoring sans dentures, or of a beer-bellied dad, kickin’ back, watching an NFL marathon each and every Sunday.
Well, soon, those images are going to change. They even have Brooke Shields as their spokesperson now (and the commercials make me crack up!), to pull the moms of the world into the mix.
Last week, a few of my fellow bloggers and I co-hosted a Grand Opening event at two of the local La-Z-Boy furniture galleries in San Diego county (San Marcos and La Mesa) where we were able to take tours around the show room floors and peruse all of their lines. I was more impressed than I even thought I was going to be and I wanted nearly everything in sight.
The very first area I walked into was done up in all the same colors I have in my living room, except all of my furniture is over eleven years old. I almost pulled out my credit card right on the spot.
