I am to nail polish what Carrie Bradshaw is to shoes.
I am a merchant’s wet dream when it comes to nail polish. I simply cannot walk by a brightly colored display of a new line of OPI or Essie nail polish without stopping and most likely purchasing one of the newest colors. I start to get all tingly inside just thinking about it.
I don’t where or how or when it all started, but seriously, I can’t get enough nail polish, clearly, as proven by the photo above, which represents only half of the polish I have in my unreasonable stash.
My current favorite collections are:
The Brazil Collection from OPI (probably because I want to look like this Brazilian lady)
It’s taking every thing in my power not go out and buy ALL of the colors above (I’ve only purchased 4 which is a miracle).
The irony of being a polishaholic is that I’m not very good at giving myself a manicure AND I’m also lazy about taking the polish off, so I’ll walk around with chipped nails longer than the amount of time my nails actually look good.
Case in point . . . I painted my nails last Friday night and this is what they look like now. And they will probably look like this for the rest of the week.
(If you have any tips on avoiding such bad chipping, let me know!)
To avoid the chipping issue, I’ve just been getting gel nails at the nail salon, so then all of the polish I impulsively buy sits in this plastic green crate, just waiting to be used. Some of the polishes I haven’t even touched yet. At least polish doesn’t cost as much as Manolo Blahniks, right?
I do know how to get nail polish out of clothes though, so watch this video tutorial to see how it works.
