musings on motherhood on mother’s day

musings on motherhood on this mother's day

Motherhood is a delicate balancing act between:

Nurturing and smothering

Caring and hovering

Instinct and insecurity

Giving and giving in

Being in control and giving up control

Reprimanding and understanding

Holding on and letting go

Sometimes it feels unsteady, unsure.  Then again, it can feel like precise perfection, like just exactly where you’re meant to be.

Motherhood is a complex combination of joy, exhilaration, fear, frustration, beauty, doubt, wonder and worry all in one beautiful bond.

Motherhood stands above anything else in my life as the job, the duty, the blessing that I treasure beyond anything else.

It has made me appreciate my own mother even more than I did in my youth and it makes me appreciate every day in ways I never knew possible.

Motherhood is love that knows no bounds.

Love the sentiments. This year, Mother’s Day was difficult for me because of my mom’s illness. I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day!
